Bonita Spings and Estero Bonita is Southwest Florids's newest city.  While residents voted to incorporate in 2000 Bonita Springs'  history goes back to 1888.   Estero was founded when 250 pioneering settlers carved out a Utopian society out of Southwest Florida wilderness in 1894.  While their dream to make Estero the cultural and religious center of the world was never realized, Estero, in the past twenty years, became Lee County's fastest growing area.
