Of the 1360 listings 66 are REO foreclosures and 317 are in Short Sale situations. Short sales are listings that have a home owner selling their home for less than what they currently owe.  So when an offer is on the table, the lean holder/s and the seller have to both accept or reject the offer.  This can take months.  Listings owned by the bank or mortgage company (REO foreclosures) tend to go through the process quicker.

Lehigh Acres

 

Lehigh Acres is a non incorporated community to the East of Ft Myers.  It too is a great place to live and enjoy the Florida sun and breezes.  Lehigh has several gulf courses privately owned with homes surrounding the couses,  Lehigh has it's own hospital and fire department and sheriff department patroling the many miles of streets.  Most homes have their own well and septic system. 

 

Currently (7/4/2009) in Lehigh there are 1199 single family 3/2/2 listings with 115 of them being pool homes.  Of the 1199 listings 287 are on the market as foreclosures and 581 are short sales.
